As a school we take our responsibilities regarding Child Protection and Safeguarding very seriously. If you require further information, please see a member of staff. The Safeguarding Policy is reviewed by staff and governors annually. It is based on a Devon County Model policy and revisions are put in place as soon as the school are notified they are available. Please refer to the Safeguarding Policy.
Management of School Policies
In order to remain effective as a governing body, it is essential that we maintain and adhere to a series of policies and guidelines – both statutory and mandatory. The governors review all policies and guidelines in accordance with a review timetable and the website is then updated where possible to show the revised policy and procedures. Our policy covering the Management of School Policies was discussed and reviewed in September 2015; this is shown below.

The Governing Body of Clyst Hydon Primary School oversee many policies of which the Whole School Attendance Policy is one. The Education Welfare Officer completes an annual registration audit which includes examining children’s absences and the reasons recorded for those absences. We understand that sometimes it is not possible to attend every learning session, perhaps because of illness or other circumstances; however we would encourage you to ensure that your child attends every possible session as planned.

Code of Dress (Uniform) Policy
The governors of Clyst Hydon Primary School have reviewed the requirements for our school uniform and have produced the attached document. It aims to provide parents with a broad selection of items that are acceptable.

The Governors of Clyst Hydon Primary School regularly review all policies that affect the delivery of the curriculum at the school, all policies that affect the health, safety and well being of your children whilst in school and all policies that affect the financial reporting and systems within the school administration office. All of these policies are available for parents and pupils to view on request. Several are also placed on the website so that you can access them easily.

Code of Conduct
At Clyst Hydon School the children develop their own ‘rules’ or Codes of Conduct through group, class and whole school discussion in Personal, Social and Health Education and also assemblies at the beginning of the year.
The aim of this policy is to set guidelines for dealing with Bullying in accordance with the Devon Approach to Dealing with Bullying.
