Special Educational Needs and Disability Awareness

At Clyst Hydon Primary School, we are inclusive of all children and strive to cater for all needs and abilities, where practicable to do so.

We continue to assist children on the Special Educational Needs register at our school in a variety of ways including the purchase of specialist equipment, investing in additional training for all staff and purchasing assistance from external agencies and working alongside specialist teams including the Educational Welfare Service, the Social, Emotional and Mental Health Team (SEMH), Child and Adult Mental Health services (CAMHs and Educational Psychology.

A proportion of the funding received is used for support Teaching Assistant salaries to ensure we are able to offer the best possible nurturing environment for the children in our school.
